St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, which earns its name as a 200-year-old landmark in the center of NoLita, was quite literally the first cathedral to exist under the Archdiocese of New York. The site where the baptism scene was filmed in the Godfather, St Patrick's boasts a rich cultural history, and has been recently restored to bring forward the brilliant colors and detailing of its stained glass, sculpture, and architectural flourishes.

The Henry Erben pipe organ, built in 1868, is a historic artifact in its own right, and has been operational ever since its construction. The organ at St. Patrick's is played regularly, sometimes accompanied by choral music.
